Hi there! I’m Arend van Haaren, born in 2000, with a deep passion for photography. You’ll often find me immersed in nature, capturing its beauty through the lens of my camera. Originally from Gouda, a quaint city in South Holland, I now reside in Nieuw-Weerdinge, nestled within the picturesque landscapes of Drenthe since 2022.
My journey into photography began in 2015 when I first experimented with my parents’ Sony DSLR-A200. From there, I eagerly took the reins of my brother’s Nikon Coolpix P510, honing my skills from 2016 to 2019. Saving up diligently, I invested in my own camera, the Nikon Coolpix P900, which became my faithful companion for capturing countless moments. Fuelled by my passion, I expanded my gear collection and knowledge through various online courses.
In June 2020, I took a significant leap forward with the acquisition of the Sony A7 Mark II, accompanied by lenses such as the Sony FE 70-300mm F4.5-5.6 G OSS and the Sony FE 50mm F1.8. These additions elevated my photography to new heights, allowing me to explore different styles and perspectives. Not one to rest on my laurels, I continued to invest in my craft, acquiring the Tamron 28-75mm F2.8 Di III RXD lens in June 2021, followed by the Tamron 150-500mm F/5-6.7 DI III VC VXD SONY FE lens in November 2023.
Each piece of equipment has not only expanded my technical capabilities but also fueled my creativity, enabling me to capture the world around me in increasingly captivating ways. With the recent addition of the Sony A7 Mark III, I’m excited to embark on the next chapter of my photographic journey, striving to push the boundaries of my art and create even more stunning imagery.
